Lateral Attorneys Enhance Our Culture and Commitment to Excellence
Personality, culture, and human values are cornerstones of Jackson Walker’s identity. That shows in the way attorneys and staff treat, respect, and help each other, and how they enjoy an atmosphere different from that of other firms. The Firm’s culture and commitment to excellence have been major factors in our economic success. That is why we are always seeking talented lateral attorneys who enhance our culture.
“Changing law firms as a mid-level associate is never easy, but the entire team at Jackson Walker—from office managing partner to support staff—could not have been more helpful and supportive during my transition. Not only did they keep an open line of communications during conflict checks, but they also provided the perfect environment for a soft landing on day one. Everyone has been extremely welcoming, approachable, and friendly. Jackson Walker is all about the team, and you can really feel it every single day!”

Diversity & Inclusion Make Us Better
At Jackson Walker, we take pride in providing a supportive, inclusive environment for our attorneys and staff. By actively recruiting, retaining, and advancing a diverse team, we are better equipped to serve our sophisticated, global clients and contribute to making our communities better places. One key aspect of our diversity and inclusion initiatives has been our active women’s initiative, called JW2. Among the program’s goals is to help women lawyers at the firm build successful careers and develop strong networks. Women attorneys practice in all areas of the Firm, serving as lead counsel in litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters. In fact, between 2015 and 2022, we promoted 26 women to partner.
Our Commitment to Community
A longstanding and ongoing commitment to the community is an important part of Jackson Walker’s culture. The Firm plays a key role in over 500 local, regional, and national civic, charitable, and professional organizations and encourages active participation by all our attorneys and staff members.
Jackson Walker’s award-winning pro bono program demonstrates its values and commitment to representing clients of limited economic means who would otherwise be unable to afford legal services. We have found that attorneys who are regularly active in pro bono service tend to develop well-rounded, engaged lives, and often end up being leaders within the firm and the community. We are quite proud of the fact that the Firm spends over 6,000 hours on pro bono causes every year.
