Job Description Summary:

Fenwick & West is looking to expand its Chambers ranked Privacy & Security practice by adding an experienced mid-level privacy and cybersecurity associate with four (4) to five (5) years of deep experience in these areas as they relate to business transactions such as licensing, M&A and commercial contracting.

We also provide comprehensive cybersecurity legal services, from preparedness, compliance, and governance issues, to responses to data breaches and regulatory investigations, and defense in multidistrict class-action litigation.
Job Description:

The ideal candidate who joins our team will have significant experience in drafting privacy/security policies; negotiating privacy related contracts and DPAs; providing product counseling; conducting privacy compliance assessment; and leading due diligence for M&A and financings. Candidates should have good facility with technology and data flows, and understand federal laws such as HIPAA, GLBA, FCRA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, and the FTC Act; state laws such as CCPA, CPRA, and VaCDPA; and international laws and regimes such as GDPR, LGPD, and CSL. Candidates from both law firms and companies will be considered. Technical background and experience with AdTech and AI would be useful, but not essential. Superior academic credentials, excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, and strong professional references are required.

Applicable state bar membership (or eligibility to take next available state bar exam) required.

The anticipated range for this position is:

$295,000 – $370,000
Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance. Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
