Job Description

Ice Miller is seeking a midlevel or mid-to-senior level private equity attorney to join our New York office. Successful candidates will work with our busy Private Equity team in New York representing middle market and lower middle market private equity funds, private debt funds, SBICs, BDCs, family offices and independent sponsors in their investment strategies, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, senior and mezzanine debt financings, structured equity investments, growth capital transactions, early and late stage private equity investments and secondary transactions. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a team oriented mentality, and be a motivated self-starter with strong law school credentials and references.

In this position you will:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have law firm experience with private equity transactions and interacting directly with clients.
  • Have an undergraduate degree in business.
  • Have excellent law school and undergraduate credentials and references.
  • Excel in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in developing and implementing relationship building skills both internally and externally.
  • Have experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own.
  • Be highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Possess strong business acumen.
  • Be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication, as well as analytical skills.
