Ice Miller is seeking an associate/of counsel to join our Utilities Group in Indiana or Ohio. Candidates must have 5-7 years of experience in either the public or private sector with experience in any of the following areas: energy law; utility regulatory law; and regulated industries. Experience with real property and/or contract law is preferred.
 
In this position you will:
  • Work with a small, close-knit team of attorneys and professional staff
  • Be a part of a sophisticated practice that advises a broad range of investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities and local governments including gas, electric, steam, water and wastewater utilities, as well as telecommunications providers in a variety of proceedings for regulatory approvals before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO)
  • Have opportunities for advancement in a collegial environment
  • Receive training opportunities with growing levels of responsibility
  • Collaborate with talented and team-oriented attorneys across practice groups and across offices
  • Be able to work remotely two days per week
The ideal candidate will:
  • Be licensed or become licensed to practice law in Indiana and/or Ohio
  • Have experience practicing before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) or the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO)
  • Excel in a team environment
  • Be highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in developing and implementing relationship-building skills both internally and externally
  • Have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have excellent law school credentials and references
