About the Health Law Practice
Our Health Law Practice is uniquely positioned to guide clients through structural and operational challenges. Our clients include providers (non-profit, publicly traded and private equity backed), payors, manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers. The breadth and depth of our knowledge and experience inform our advice in related litigation and transactional matters. We also draw upon the capabilities of a wide range of related practices within the firm as the need arises. This cross-disciplinary approach allows our attorneys to solve the many problems our clients face while expanding their business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Mintz is looking for an associate with regulatory experience to join the Health Law Practice in our DC office. Responsibilities will include researching, analyzing and advising on Medicaid and Medicare A, B, C and/or D requirements as well as state and federal fraud and abuse laws (e.g., the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, the False Claims Act, similar state laws). Experience in one or more of these regulatory areas is required. The associate will also work with other Mintz attorneys on various aspects of transactions, including health care regulatory due diligence and analysis of transaction structures to assess compliance with health care regulatory requirements, and will draft/review contracts with health care regulatory implications. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to respond to client requests quickly, efficiently and effectively are critical.
Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm encourages working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm’s published guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to or eligible for admission to the MA, NY or DC Bar
- Experience working on health care matters
- Experience with FDA, DEA and/or pharmacy regulatory matters preferred

- Professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clients
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities and responsibilities
- Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
All Mintz employees are required to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination unless they have a medical or religious basis precluding vaccination for which they are legally entitled to an exemption from the requirement that can be accommodated by the firm. Consistent with this requirement, prior to your start date you will be required to provide proof that you have received all recommended doses in the primary series and one booster when eligible. Generally, we consider an employee eligible for the booster if they completed the primary series of the vaccine at least six months ago and have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the prior 90 days. Getting a second booster is not necessary to be considered up to date at this time.
