The firm seeks an attorney with 5 to 8 years’ experience to support its water litigation practice. Litigation experience including drafting pleadings, performing discovery, and arguing motions is essential.
This position involves representation of public and private sector clients statewide, in both state and federal court, in a broad range of water-related issues including water rights, water supply, flood control law, federal reclamation law, public agency law, National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, and California Environmental Quality Act compliance. Familiarity with natural resource or regulatory issues is a plus. Associate base compensation is lockstep and determined by class year, substantive experience, and geography. Salary for attorneys at the level of experience indicated ranges from $185,000.00-$215,000.00. Bonus consideration is given for productivity and performance.
The successful candidate will have a distinguished academic record and have exceptional research, writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be a current, active member of the California Bar Association and be willing to relocate to Sacramento if not from the area. The firm supports a hybrid work environment with the ability to work remotely part of the time, and provides a relocation bonus for candidates who are not from the area in which the position is based to defray the cost of relocation and accommodate their regular presence in the office.
