Responsibilities:

We are seeking a tenured associate (3-5 years) to join our busy, cutting-edge cyber, privacy, and data innovation team. Responsibilities include working on our robust pipeline of sophisticated, innovative, and industry-leading litigation, including class actions, across a range of clients in Orrick’s industry verticals of technology, finance, life sciences, and energy. The ideal candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, and a proactive and critical thinker who has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, noteworthy writing skills, and the ability to balance working independently while being a strong team member.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of litigation experience, and be a passionate, highly motivated, dynamic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills — and above all a team player. The candidate must possess strong academic credentials, excellent legal research abilities, and superb writing and oral communication skills. This position offers the candidate the opportunity to assume early and significant responsibility in managing all aspects of complex disputes and litigation, including working directly with clients, managing all aspects of discovery (with the support of Orrick’s industry-leading eDiscovery, Analytics, and Litigation Support team), taking and defending depositions, making court appearances and handling oral argument at key hearings, handling mediations, etc. Membership to the State Bar of the desired office is strongly preferred.
