Sterne Kessler is hiring district court and Federal Circuit judicial clerks upon completion of their 2024 (or 2023) clerkship! We offer a competitive signing bonus to associates who join us directly after their federal judicial clerkship. The good faith base salary range for this position is $215,000 to $325,000 at a 2000 billable hour goal.

The firm has a flexible hours program under which an Associate can select a lower billable hour goal with a commensurate salary. Under the flexible hours program, you may select a billable hour goal in the range of 1400 to 2000 hours. Litigation associates at our firm, however are more likely to select hour goals of 2000 hours.

Our Trial & Appellate Group (TAG) is especially interested in candidates who would like to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area. We offer a relocation allowance to help with your move. Associates have flexibility to choose to work in our brand new office space on K St NW or from home. We are flexible on start dates in 2024.

The actual salary rate referenced above offered to candidates will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the firm.
